Las Cañadas Caldera

Las Cañadas Caldera forms the vast geological amphitheatre around Teide. Its walls, called the caldera rim, expose a long sequence of volcanic and erosional history that predates the present Teide summit.

Driving across the caldera floor reveals multiple generations of lava, pumice, eroded rock towers and sediment, making the landscape one of the clearest large-scale volcanic classrooms in the Canary Islands.
