El Portillo Botanical Garden

El Portillo Botanical Garden is a four-hectare garden inside Teide National Park created to display, interpret, research and reproduce native high-altitude plants. It gives visitors a concentrated introduction to species that can be difficult to identify across the wider volcanic landscape.

The garden also supports conservation work through propagation, seed storage and recovery programmes for threatened plants. Its scientific role makes it more than a landscaped garden: it is part of the park’s long-term work to protect endemic flora.
