About this volcanic site
Montaña de Tejina is a protected volcanic landform in the Guía de Isora highlands. Its geology includes phonolitic and trachybasaltic rocks later crossed and covered by younger volcanic deposits.
Deep ravines on either side expose the mountain’s structure, while terraces on the slopes show how local farming adapted to difficult volcanic terrain.
Visitor information
Access is from local roads near Tejina and Acojeja. Use established tracks and avoid disturbing nesting birds or cultivated terraces.
