Santa Cruz & La Laguna
Casabuena House (Casa Casabuena)
A La Laguna civic residence associated with the historic Court of the Indies, combining Baroque and Neoclassical architectural elements.
History & background
Casabuena House has an unusually strong connection with the administrative history of Tenerife. From the 18th century it was associated with the Juzgado de Indias, the Court of the Indies, linking the building to regulation and legal matters surrounding Atlantic commerce.
The façade combines Baroque and later Neoclassical elements, reflecting changes in taste over time. Its story adds an institutional dimension to La Laguna’s better-known collection of noble houses.
