Llano de Ucanca
A broad plain on the floor of Las Cañadas Caldera, framed by lava formations, escarpments and the Teide–Pico Viejo complex.
Llano de Ucanca is one of the widest open spaces on the floor of Las Cañadas Caldera. Its relatively flat appearance contrasts with the surrounding lava fields and steep caldera walls.
The plain gives visitors a sense of the enormous scale of the caldera and makes a useful visual counterpoint to nearby rock formations such as Roques de García.
Good to know
Use official viewpoints and roadside stops. Do not drive onto protected volcanic terrain or leave marked routes.
