Eastern Tenerife
La Hondura Cliffs Scientific Interest Site
A protected volcanic cliff section on the Fasnia coast, formed by stacked lava and pyroclastic deposits and home to threatened coastal plants.
About this viewpoint
La Hondura is a protected cliff landscape on Tenerife’s southeast coast. The cliffs are built from accumulated lava flows and pyroclastic deposits and are cut by small coves and ravines.
The site protects specialised coastal vegetation, including rare plants adapted to salt, wind and exposed volcanic rock, as well as seabirds using the coast.
Visitor information
Access is from the Las Eras area. Keep well back from cliff edges and avoid disturbing protected vegetation.
