One of southern Tenerife’s oldest religious landmarks, with 16th- and 17th-century fabric, Mudéjar details and a long connection to Adeje’s historic centre.
The Church of Santa Úrsula stands in the historic centre of Adeje and grew from one of the earliest religious buildings in southern Tenerife. Adeje’s heritage service traces the original hermitage to the years after the conquest of the island.
The building developed in stages: the older nave and associated spaces date to the sixteenth century, while the main nave and chancel were expanded in the seventeenth century under the marquises of Adeje.
Inside and outside, the church preserves Mudéjar-influenced details and artworks that connect the building with the history of the Ponte family and Casa Fuerte.
Daytime, combined with a walk around Adeje Old Town.
