About the museum

The Franciscan convent of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y San Pablo was founded in Adeje in 1679 by the first Marquis of Adeje.

Adeje’s heritage service records that the complex was declared a protected monument in 1986. Much of the original convent disappeared after the nineteenth-century exclaustration, but the former church survives.

The surviving building later had several uses and was restored by the municipality. It forms an important part of a compact heritage walk with Santa Úrsula Church and Casa Fuerte.
