About this viewpoint

The Campeches, Tigaiga and Ruiz Protected Landscape combines dramatic geology with a long history of farming on Tenerife’s north-facing slopes. Ravines cut through the terrain while cultivated land occupies gentler areas between them.

Native vegetation includes humid forest communities as well as thermophilous plants on lower slopes. The contrast between laurel-related woodland, agricultural terraces and deep ravines makes the area a useful place to understand the environmental variety of northern Tenerife.
