A South Tenerife itinerary that does not try to do everything
Three days is enough to understand the south if you balance one resort day, one experience day and one change-of-scenery day.
This itinerary is deliberately flexible. Swap days around for weather, sea conditions, tour availability and how much driving you want.
Day 1 — Beaches, promenade & Golden Mile
Start with El Camisón or Las Vistas, then walk through Playa de las Américas. Continue toward the Golden Mile for shopping and finish with dinner or sunset drinks.
Day 2 — Costa Adeje & the sea
Build the day around one major activity: whale watching, a boat trip, Siam Park or another booked experience. If you choose a boat trip, Puerto Colón is the key harbour area.
Afterwards, keep the rest of the day simple with La Pinta, Fañabé or a promenade walk toward El Duque.

Day 3 — choose history or a big island excursion
Option A: stay local and explore Adeje Old Town, Casa Fuerte and Santa Úrsula, adding Barranco del Infierno only if you have a confirmed hiking reservation.
Option B: use the day for Teide, Masca, La Gomera or another major excursion from the south. This is the day to leave the resort corridor rather than squeezing in several small attractions.
How to adapt the itinerary
With kids
Replace nightlife with Siam Park, Aqualand or a second beach afternoon.
Without a car
Stay within the resort corridor for Days 1–2 and use an organised excursion for Day 3.
Food-focused
Finish one day in La Caleta and another in Adeje town.
Budget-focused
Use beaches, promenades, sunset and Adeje Old Town as the backbone of the trip.
