PlanningCosta Adeje Guide: Beaches, Coastal Walks & Day Plans
Get to know Costa Adeje through its beach areas, promenade and La Caleta, with flexible day plans, transport links and practical advice.

Choose a practical southern base, reach it from Tenerife South Airport and plan beach days using walking routes and official TITSA links.
You can plan a South Tenerife stay around a coastal base, walks and selected bus journeys. The useful question is how far your accommodation is from the stops and places you will actually use. A resort name alone cannot answer that.
Our suggestion is to compare the exact address with a pedestrian route to the beach, food shops and a suitable bus stop. Look for gradients, road crossings and the final approach to the property before booking. A cheaper hillside apartment may suit you perfectly, but it calls for a different plan from a seafront hotel.
Aena lists route 40 between Tenerife South Airport, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje station. For late arrivals, its airport page also lists the night route 711 connecting the airport with Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje on the wider Santa Cruz route.
Check the current timetable against your landing time, allowing for baggage collection. The bus station is not the same as a transfer to your hotel door. Work out the final walk or taxi connection before you travel; keep a taxi or pre-arranged transfer as a backup if the timings do not work.
TITSA 467 links the southern coast through Los Cristianos, San Eugenio and Costa Adeje station to La Caleta, with the other end serving the Las Galletas and Costa del Silencio area. It is a useful route to investigate for outings along this corridor.
Check your stop on the route map and choose the correct direction. Two stops with similar names on opposite sides of a road may serve different journeys. Traffic can affect the day, so do not build a tight restaurant or activity booking around a last-minute arrival.
Choose a manageable coastal section, a lunch stop and time on one beach. La Pinta and the Puerto Colón area can anchor an outing; Fañabé and Torviscas offer another starting point. Use the place guides to choose a route rather than assuming the whole coast is one short walk.
Make this an out-and-back walk only if the return distance works for your group. Otherwise check a bus or taxi option before leaving. For wheelchair users, pushchairs or anyone avoiding steps, confirm the actual route and access at the chosen beach.
Keep a Los Cristianos day simple: explore the waterfront, take a break and choose whether to continue towards Las Vistas. Our Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas guide gives you places to combine without committing to a full coastal trek.
Pack lightly enough that you can enjoy the walk, and check your return stop before sitting down for dinner. A relaxed local day is often more useful than trying to collect several resort names on one itinerary.
Route 470 connects Los Cristianos with El Médano through Los Abrigos and La Tejita. It gives you a car-free way to reach a different part of the southern coast. Choose El Médano town or La Tejita as the main stop, then check how the timetable fits your plan.
For a first visit, we suggest the town and seafront with a lunch break. Adding a reserve walk needs suitable conditions, equipment and more time. Check the return service before starting an extra walk.
For a water-park day or an organised excursion, check the provider's transport information before buying. Ask whether pickup is included, which stop applies to your hotel and how you get back. 'South Tenerife pickup' is not a promise of collection at every accommodation.
If you arrange transport separately, leave a margin for the entrance queue and your return journey. Our Siam Park guide is a starting point for planning the visit; use the operator's current information for any shuttle service.
Use TITSA's official site to check current fares, payment options and service notices. Choose a ticket after comparing the journeys you expect to make; this guide does not promise that a particular pass will be cheaper for every visitor.
Save your hotel's address, a screenshot of the relevant route and your return stop. Carry a charged phone, water and a light layer. With substantial luggage, an early flight or a group with different walking needs, consider using a taxi for just the awkward leg rather than changing the whole holiday plan.
