The Museo Militar de Almeyda in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is housed in the historic Cuartel de Almeida and has operated as a museum since 1988. Its collections cover the military history of the Canary Islands through weapons, uniforms, models, paintings and personal objects.
The museum is also known for its historic cartography and for exhibits connected with the conquest of Tenerife and later defence of the island, giving useful context to Santa Cruz’s castles, batteries and the 1797 attack led by Horatio Nelson.
