Royal Customs House (Casa de la Real Aduana)
Puerto de la Cruz’s oldest surviving civil building, founded in 1620 and closely tied to the city’s maritime trade and customs history.
About the museum
The Royal Customs House is one of the defining buildings of the old harbour in Puerto de la Cruz. Founded in 1620 by the Franchy family, it later served as a customs house and residence for customs administrators.
The building’s position beside the fishing harbour and the former Santa Bárbara Battery reflects the commercial and defensive functions that shaped Puerto de la Cruz. Today it continues to serve the public through tourism and cultural uses.
Visitor information
The ground floor houses visitor-oriented uses and the building sits directly beside the old harbour, making it easy to include on a historic waterfront walk.
