Casa de Carta History and Anthropology Museum
A restored 18th-century country house in Valle de Guerra and one of the main venues of Tenerife’s Museum of History and Anthropology.
About the museum
Casa de Carta is one of the principal venues of the Museum of History and Anthropology of Tenerife. The house was acquired in 1726 by Captain Matías Rodríguez Carta and preserves the character of an 18th-century Canarian country residence.
The museum uses the building to explore popular culture, domestic life and traditions through textiles, furniture, pottery, basketry, musical instruments, historic gardens and agricultural spaces. The architecture itself is part of the visit, with traditional timberwork, a central courtyard and volcanic stone details.
