History & background

Agua de Dios Ravine is one of the archaeological landscapes that preserve evidence of indigenous occupation in northern Tenerife. Caves, shelters and the ravine environment together help researchers reconstruct how Guanche communities used terrain.

Its importance lies in the concentration of archaeological context rather than in a single visible monument. Ravines offered shelter, movement corridors and access to varied ecological zones.
