The Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín is one of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s most recognisable modern buildings. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, its sweeping concrete form rises beside the Atlantic and is built around a large curved symphonic hall beneath the structure’s distinctive overhanging wing.
The venue opened in 2003 and today hosts the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Ópera de Tenerife and a broad programme of music and dance. Even outside performance times, the building is worth seeing for its architecture, seafront setting and relationship with the neighbouring cultural district.
