About this viewpoint

The Roques de Anaga are two isolated volcanic monoliths, Roque de Tierra and Roque de Fuera, rising from the Atlantic off the northeast coast. Their isolation has allowed distinctive wildlife communities to persist with very little human disturbance.

The reserve is important for seabirds and endemic species, while the exposed rock forms are among the most recognisable natural landmarks of the Anaga coastline. Scientific value, rather than recreational access, is the reason for the reserve’s strict protection.
