Museo de la Ciencia y el Cosmos
An interactive science museum in La Laguna where visitors learn through hands-on experiments, astronomy, a planetarium and exhibits about Earth, the Sun, the human body and the universe.
- Hands-on interactive science exhibits
- Strong astronomy focus linked to the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias
- Planetarium and children’s Microcosmos area
Museo de la Ciencia y el Cosmos is designed as an interactive science centre rather than a traditional museum of objects in display cases. Visitors are encouraged to experiment directly with exhibits that explore astronomy, physics, the human body, Earth and the wider universe.
The museum was developed with the involvement of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias and gives astronomy a particularly strong role. Its permanent spaces include exhibits on the Sun and the universe, a planetarium and a dedicated children’s area called Microcosmos.
Good to know
Allow enough time to explore the interactive exhibits rather than treating this as a quick display museum. Planetarium sessions and temporary activities can have their own schedules, so check the museum website before visiting.
