Agua García Forest

A humid laurel-forest area above Tacoronte, known for shaded trails, giant heathers and old forest landscapes.

Nature & ForestsHiking

Agua García Forest preserves a lush section of Tenerife’s monteverde vegetation above Tacoronte. Laurel forest, giant heathers and mossy paths create a landscape very different from the island’s dry southern slopes.

The forest is also valuable for understanding the role of trade-wind moisture, which condenses on vegetation and supports ecosystems that depend on frequent cloud.
